houghton miffline 7th grade algebra practice

I think God would have been in a really bad mood decided to come up with something called algebra to trouble us! I’ve spent days trying to figure out a solution to this math problem which relates to houghton miffline 7th grade algebra practice and I still can’t crack it. I’m particularly having problems with trigonometric functions, binomial formula and graphing inequalities. Can anyone throw some light on how to go about finding a solution to such problems? I’ve tried various means that I could think of, but none helped. I need some urgent help now. Anybody?
