pre algebra

I think God must have been in a really bad mood decided to come up with something called algebra to trouble us! I’ve spent hours working on this math problem which relates to pre algebra and I still can’t solve it. I’m particularly having problems with function domain, like denominators and mixed numbers. Can anyone show me the way on how to go about solving such problems? I’ve tried all ways that I could think of, but none helped. I need some urgent guidance now. Anybody?

You really shouldn’t have wasted money on a private tutor. Had you posted this message before hiring one of those, you could have saved yourself a lot of money! Anyway, now you can’t change it. I too have had problems in powers, angle suplements and rational expressions. I was advised that there are a number of programs that I could try out. Algebrator is the program that I have used through several algebra classes - Intermediate algebra, Algebra 1 and College Algebra. It is a truly a great piece of math software.
